Charlottesville Gastroenterology physicians have been performing office-based colonoscopy since April 2001.  In 2006, our state-of-the-art endoscopy center was accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), a “leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality, value, and measurement of performance.” In October 2011, we received a three year extension of certification. Accreditation distinguishes our clinics and endoscopy centers from many other outpatient facilities by providing a safe work environment and the highest quality of care to patients. We offer a full range of office-based endoscopic services, including colonoscopy for colon cancer screening and upper endoscopy.  We use advanced endoscopic equipment with high resolution digital imaging technology.  We have designed our unit to combine the convenience of an office-based endoscopy setting with the safety and diagnostic capabilities of an ambulatory endoscopy center.  Our office-based endoscopic services adhere to standards published by the American Gastroenterological Association.
